In two hours, this masterclass in jazz combo drumming consists of two phases, a demonstration phase and a mentoring phase, each lasting one hour. During the demonstration phase, Moss will play with a combo (lead, chords, bass, and herself) in a variety of jazz styles including styles such as downtempo and uptempo swing, Afro-Cuban, bossa nova, straight ahead, and tunes that may incorporate a variety and combination of these styles. Each song will be accompanied by a period of instruction time to deconstruct and explain her artistic and stylistic choices.  

Once these tunes have been played and studied, class members who feel willing and comfortable will be invited to come up to drum with the combo so that they can incorporate these concepts into their playing. Moss will also provide instruction and pointers on their stylistic decisions and musicality briefly before inviting the next audience member.
