Taiko Drumming: November’s Co-ed Drum Circle

  • Women's Drum Center 2242 University Avenue West Saint Paul, MN, 55114 United States (map)

3rd Fridays of the Month

Back by popular demand, the November co-ed drum circle will feature Taiko drums! Taiko is a form of Japanese drumming. The drums are made using wine barrels and cowhide/skin. Students will have the opportunity to learn basic hits, stances, and a short new song titled, Koraborizumu, which means collaborate rhythms. Our hope is that in addition to learning the prepared portion; the group will collaborate to create rhythmic phrases, to add to the song!
