The WOMEN’S DRUM CENTER (WDC) creates vitality, resilience, and interconnectedness through world percussion. We are a performing arts non-profit organization serving the community through:
Percussion music education for adults
Scholarships
Outreach programs
Maintaining an extensive drum library
Providing public and private performances
The WDC is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organization with leadership and oversight by an all-volunteer board of directors and executive director. We have a proven track record of reliable and accessible programming and are experienced in maximizing the impact of your gift.
Make a Donation
At WDC, we believe in the power of percussion and its ability to transform lives and communities. With your support, WDC will continue to serve as a place that centers women of all ages as leaders and collaborators, that normalizes an environment in which all people thrive, and provides cultural context for the music that we play.
Through outreach programs like UpBEATS, we are able to share powerful percussion experiences and train drum facilitators. Your gift provides programming, scholarships, and access to drumming regardless of age or experience. The impact of your gift:
$25: Can help maintain our studio and library of drums.
$50: Can help provide scholarships.
$100: Can help keep our weekly classes and unique workshops affordable.
$500: Can help expand our outreach programs.
$1000:

More Ways to Give
Planned Giving
Planned gifts come in many forms and can often provide tax benefits or income advantages to the donor. You can choose what works best for you and your loved ones. We encourage you to consult with your financial advisor to determine the option that best fits your goals.
1. Bequest in Your Will or Trust
You can make a gift to the WOMEN’S DRUM CENTER by naming us as a beneficiary in your will or trust.
Sample language:
“I give and bequeath to WOMEN’S DRUM CENTER, a nonprofit organization located in St Paul, Minnesota (Tax ID: 41-1917220) the sum of $____ (or ___% of my estate, or the residue of my estate) to be used for its general purposes.”
2. Retirement Plan or Life Insurance
Naming WDC as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), or life insurance policy is an easy way to make a lasting impact without changing your will.
3. Charitable Annuities and Trusts
These vehicles allow you to provide income for yourself or loved ones while also supporting WDC’s mission.

Employer Matching
Many employers offer a matching gift program that allows you to increase your giving to your favorite organization. This can double or even triple your gift to the WDC.
Inquire with your company's human resources department to see if your gift to the WDC qualifies for a matching gift, or check this list of Minnesota companies that have matching gift programs from the Dakota County Historical Society.
Qualified Charitable Distributions
A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is a gift of your retirement assets from your IRA, 401(k), 403(b), pension, or other tax-deferred plan. A QCD is a direct transfer of money from your IRA provider, payable to a qualified charity. QCDs can be counted toward satisfying your required minimum distributions (RMDs) for the year, as long as certain rules are met.
Age: You must be 70½ or older to donate a QCD.
Contribution limit: The most an individual can donate in a calendar year, across all charities, is $111,000. If you file taxes jointly, your spouse can donate up to $111,000 from their IRA as well.
Eligible accounts: QCDs can be made from most IRAs, including:
Traditional IRAs
Rollover IRAs
Inherited IRAs
SEP IRAs (inactive plans only)
SIMPLE IRAs (inactive plans only)*
Under certain circumstances, Roth IRAs

Participate in Give to the Max Day
Give to the Max started in 2009 as a one-time campaign to mark the launch of GiveMN.org, Minnesota's digital home for generosity. The results of that day—$14 million raised in just 24 hours—blew everyone's expectations out of the water, and a new Minnesota tradition was born. In fact, Give to the Max was one of the nation's first online giving days and now serves as a national model for giving days. In the years since, nearly one million donors have given more than $400 million to 14,000 nonprofits and schools as part of Minnesota's giving holiday.
Mark your calendars—Give to the Max Day returns for an 18th year on Thursday, November 19, 2026, with Early Giving beginning on November 1st. Donate to the WDC through GiveMN’s website
