Djoyful Djuns and Djembe African Drumming 2

African djuns

This class will offer an opportunity to develop technique on drums related to an African Drum ensemble with special emphasis on the Djuns. Traditional African drum pieces and creative compositions by female drummers will be shared in this class with an extra emphasis on including movement while playing. Opportunities to perform the pieces in public will occur a few times a year.

Prerequisite: Djoyful Djuns and Djembe African Drumming 1

Level: Intermediate to advanced drummers

Date: 1st and 3rd Wednesday of month, 7:15-8:45pm

Cost: $20 per participant / per class session

Location: Women’s Drum Center
Parking on street. Please enter side door on Hampden Av. (ring WDC bell).

  • Preregistration is required at least 2 days in advance.
