Walk for Hope Raises Nearly $50,000

"Saturday, Sept. 27, 530 people walked 2 miles and 120 ran a 5K under blue skies at Bunker Hills Regional Park. When they started and finished, Drumbeat a womens’ percussion ensemble,played an upbeat Latin music riff to lift their spirits after hearing heartbreaking statistics."

They've Got the Beat!

Melodia - Exploring the Melody of the Drum

Women’s Drum Center is excited to once again host their annual benefit concert "Melodia" on Saturday, May 17th, 2014 at Sateren Auditorium from 7 to 9pm. Rhythms for the Trees Festival - “for the Love of Trees and Drums”

This Festival is hosted by the Women’s Drum Center as part of the Million Women Drummers Gathering Minnesota Branch. It will be held on October 13th, from 1 - 6 pm, at the RAMADA BLOOMINGTON (Minneapolis Airport/Mall of America Area), 2300 East American Blvd, I-494 & 24th Ave, Bloomington, MN 55425 US

The Women’s Drum Center performances on the DNR stage will Highlight Drumheart, the center’s all women performing ensemble, WDC teachers, participants and also include drummers from the Million Women Drummers Gathering - Mn. Group.  The music will feature pieces from Africa, Brazil, the Caribbean and the U.S.A.   The Women’s Drum Center’s mission is to provide opportunities for women and girls to learn, teach and play percussion together and to energize the community with our music.  For more information about the Women’s Drum Center go to www.womensdrumcenter.org


Million Women's Drummers Gathering - MN, has a goal to help provide for the future of drums by providing for the future of trees.   The vision is -  “Sustain trees to sustain drums and all wooden instruments” .  Ubaka Hill, a nationally known female drummer, had the vision to involve drummers in the global actions to sustain trees.   She states that ”for so many reasons, it is time to join forces with other environmental and world health organizations in their work to provide a world that sustains trees.”


The Women’s Drum Center presents a weekend of events with nationally acclaimed drummer, performer, teacher, visual artist and recording artist, Ubaka Hill. Ubaka Hill will perform in concert at Jeanne D'Arc Auditorium, on the campus of St. Catherine University, St. Paul, MN. Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.
